Small Engine Mechanic
We are seeking a skilled Small Engine Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of small engine equipment as well as truck and trailer. This role requires a blend of technical and problem-solving skills as they will be the backbone of shop support for our field operations. The Mechanic will work with various equipment ranging from truck and trailer to power tools, providing solutions for a range of engine-related issues.
Job Duties
- Diagnose and repair small engine equipment, including lawn mowers, snowblowers, and handheld equipment.
- Diagnose and repair truck and trailers, including knowledge of attachments such as salters.
- Perform routine maintenance on engines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical issues in engines.
- Conduct heavy lifting as required when handling equipment or parts during repairs
- Welding and light fabrication when needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and share knowledge.
- Troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years proven experience in small engine repair and truck and trailer.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with proficiency in using power tools safely and effectively
- Good understanding of hydraulics and basic electrical systems
- Comfortable welding and fabricating
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with heavy equipment maintenance (such as small loaders) considered an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs
- G license with clean abstract
