Sales Development & Coaching Manager
About the Role
tripcentral.ca is looking for a Sales Development & Coaching Manager to help our travel sales agents have better conversations and convert more leads. You’ll listen to real calls, spot what’s working and what isn’t, and turn those observations into coaching that changes behaviour.
You’ll work alongside our Director of Sales to focus on skill development: helping each agent improve, one or two behaviours at a time. This is a new role for the company designed to help build a coaching system that works for a growing remote team.
What you’ll do:
Coach sales conversations
- Review recorded calls and transcripts to identify improvement opportunities.
- Coach agents on every stage of the call: rapport, discovery, explaining value, handling objections, and asking for the booking.
- Help agents strengthen voicemails, callbacks, emails, and texts.
- Use role-play, call examples, and one-on-one feedback to make improvements stick.
Drive individual improvement
- Set focused coaching priorities for each agent and follow up on progress.
- Reinforce strengths as well as address gaps.
- Partner with line managers on improvement plans when needed.
Build the coaching system
- Create a consistent call evaluation framework, coaching guides, and reference materials for a remote team.
- Spot recurring challenges and recommend training, process, or technology improvements.
- Distinguish between skill gaps, product knowledge gaps, and factors outside an agent’s control.
Measure results
- Analyze performance data to improve conversion, follow-up, and other key outcomes.
- Track whether coaching is working, accounting for lead source and seasonality.
- Share insights with sales leadership, including on daily management calls.
Collaborate across teams
- Work alongside the Director of Sales, product specialists, and the recruiting and training team.
- Contribute observations to performance appraisals and help build a culture of feedback and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in sales, sales coaching, or sales training, ideally in a phone-based or other sales environment.
- A track record of improving the performance of individual salespeople.
- Understanding of the fundamentals of selling and following a sales process.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to give specific, actionable feedback.
- A track record of running effective sales role-play that leads to clear gains in performance.
- Comfort analyzing sales data and connecting it to what’s happening on calls.
- Ability to coach experienced team members.
- Experience building evaluation frameworks, scorecards, or training materials.
- Experience working with remote or distributed teams.
- Travel industry experience is a plus.
What We Offer
- Salary Range $70,000-$80,000 per year.
- Company Health Benefits
- 4 weeks vacation to start.
