Role Description The Food Runner is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Hamilton (Burlington) Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for promptly and accurately delivering food and beverages from the kitchen to guests, ensuring dishes are presented correctly and orders are complete. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with servers and kitchen staff, acting as an expeditor to prioritize and organize food tickets, and maintaining a clean and orderly service area. The Food Runner supports guest satisfaction by responding to requests, answering basic questions about menu items, and helping to resolve minor issues quickly. This position also assists with restocking, clearing tables as needed, and following food safety and hygiene procedures.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Food Service and Food & Beverage skills to handle dishes efficiently and uphold quality standards.
- Candidates should possess Communication and Customer Service skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
- Candidates should possess Expeditor experience or skills to coordinate orders between the kitchen and front-of-house smoothly.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, stand and walk for extended periods, and carry multiple plates or trays safely.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is an asset but not mandatory.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
