Choose the visit before booking the car
Dundas Peak offers the big autumn view, but the car needs a reservation before you set off. Decide whether you want the Peak and Tew Falls, Webster Falls, or the combined visit. That choice changes the route, time and cost.
An October 2025 Reddit thread mixed useful reservation reminders with suggestions to enter through connecting paths. Some readers described queues despite holding bookings. Treat this as a warning about planning and crowding. It is not permission to bypass the current visitor rules.

Pick one area or the combined hike
The official booking page offers Dundas Peak and Tew Falls, Webster Falls, or a combined Spencer Gorge hike. Single-area visits have two-hour blocks. The combined booking gives four hours. A reservation for one area cannot be moved to the other.
Bookings open nine days ahead at 7 a.m. and close at midnight before the visit. They run rain or shine. If the day is full, choose a different visit rather than gambling on a walk-up space.

Add the whole bill
Non-members pay a vehicle fee, a per-person fee and a reservation fee. The combined experience has an extra parking charge. Members still pay the reservation fee. Count every passenger before booking and read the payment total. This is a paid outing, not just a free trail with a parking meter.
| Visit choice | Time | Key limit |
|---|---|---|
| Peak and Tew Falls | 2 hours | Does not include Webster Falls |
| Webster Falls | 2 hours | Does not include Dundas Peak |
| Combined Spencer Gorge | 4 hours | Extra parking fee applies |

The view and the crowd are part of the same choice
In October 2024, a Hamilton walker compared Dundas Peak with a quieter woodland viewpoint in Dundas Valley. They still thought the Peak had the stronger view if crowds and cost were set aside. That is a fair way to choose. A famous lookout can be worth a planned visit without being everyone’s ideal relaxed afternoon.
The October 2025 discussion added the less scenic details: booking questions, queues and uncertainty about parking. Those replies are useful context, but the 2026 reservation page decides what you can actually buy. Do not build a day around a side-street parking tip or an older route suggested to avoid the entrance charge. A booked visit is much easier to understand when the ticket, car and walking route all match.
Choose between a two-hour visit and the combined four-hour product before paying. A Webster Falls visit is not automatically a Dundas Peak visit. If your group has one person who wants a gentle waterfall stop and another who wants the longer climb, settle that difference before choosing the reservation.

Work out the car total together
For a non-member car with two paying passengers, the listed inputs are $11 vehicle admission, two $5.50 passenger admissions and a $10 reservation fee. That adds to $32 before any extra charge shown at checkout. The combined four-hour hike adds the listed $11 parking charge. This is a worked example, not a price for every possible group. Members still pay the reservation fee.
The booking window opens nine days ahead at 7 a.m. and closes at midnight before the visit. Each car needs its own reservation. Send the same arrival plan to everyone travelling separately, rather than assuming one confirmation covers the whole gathering. Rain does not cancel the reservation system. A group that wants to decide only after looking out of the window that morning may be happier saving this visit for another day.
